Vision

We want change…we want transformation

This is my commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you. Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends. You are my friends if you do what I command you
— John 15:12-13

Church is not a building. Church or rather The Church is a body, breathing, moving and pursuing. We breathe the Holy Spirit, we move in love and we pursue relentlessly. That is our hope and vision at Swarcliffe Streams. When we speak of church we speak of more than Sunday morning listening to an encouraging word and singing some nice songs. We listen to and are inspired by the very living word of God as we search for truth in God's Holy word to empower us to follow the commands demonstrated and lived out in Jesus. We sing songs that glorify and bring us into communion with the God who is changeless, awe inspiring and above all our loving faithful Father. We seek to fulfil the commandment of Jesus, to love as he first loved us knowing we were chosen, undeserved and dependent on Him.

God is a relational God, He desires relationship and fellowship with us and for us to pursue relationship and fellowship with each other. We desire to model our way of being together after the early church where community and oneness of heart, spirit and mind is integral to displaying the love and power of God to change lives, families, cities and nations.

We want change, we want transformation.

Oneness of heart, spirit and mind is integral to displaying the love and power of God to change lives, families, cities and nations.

We have always envisioned this as a place of community, where people can gather and share in life indwelt by the Holy Spirit. This, for us as a fellowship, means not only worshipping and praying together and meeting on a Sunday morning but also eating together, celebrating each other's successes, supporting each other in good times and bad. Holding each other's hands up in worship, in joy and in grief. It is a place of encouragement and of loving one another enough not to be offended but with humbleness and humility enable each other to confront the stumbling blocks in our lives with love and gentleness. Seeking first to confront those stumbling blocks in our own hearts. A place where we can feel safe to discuss the difficulties, doubts and fears we face in life and to help each other run the race before us.
